Four Backwalkover Progressions

Backwalkovers are one of the core skills in gymnastics which lead to more advanced skills such as the backhandspring step-out on balance beam and the backhandspring to two feet which helps increase series connection bonus with round-offs through to difficult dismounts.

Key points to control in progressions for a good back walkover include keeping the heels on the floor in bridges and ensuring the hips move slightly forwards when lowering to handsupport.
